Finding Your Fit

Most Silkora wigs come in one adjustable size, so you often won't need this page at all. It's here for the moments you want to be sure — picking a hair length, working out how many bundles to order, or decoding a shade code.

Wig Cap Size

Our wigs are built to an average adult cap with adjustable straps or an elastic band inside, fitting a head circumference of roughly 54.5–59.5 cm (21.5–23.5"). That covers the large majority of adults.

How to measure your head

Use a soft tailor's tape. If you only have a rigid ruler, run a piece of string around your head first, mark it, then measure the string.

Circumference	Around your head: across the front hairline, above the ears, around the widest point at the back. This is the measurement that matters most.
Front to nape	From your front hairline, straight over the top of your head, down to the base of your skull.
Ear to ear	From the top of one ear, over the crown, to the top of the other ear.

What your number means

Under 54.5 cm (21.5")	Petite. Our caps will fit, but tighten the straps fully and consider a few bobby pins at the nape.
54.5–59.5 cm	Average — the standard our wigs are built for. Set the straps once and it will sit securely.
Over 59.5 cm (23.5")	Large. Let the straps out fully. If the cap still feels tight across the front, it may not be the right fit.

Getting a secure fit

1. Flatten your own hair first — two flat cornrows, or a low twist pinned down. Bulk underneath is the main reason a wig sits too high or slides.
2. Put a wig cap over the top.
3. Set the adjustable straps once, on the first wear. You shouldn't need to touch them again.
4. Place the wig from front to back, then settle any fringe or bangs last.

Hair Length — Where It Actually Falls

Length is measured from the crown with the hair pulled straight. Where it lands on you depends on your height, so treat this as a guide rather than a promise.

Curly and wavy textures wear shorter

This catches people out constantly. All hair is measured stretched. Once a curl pattern springs up, the hair sits noticeably shorter than the number on the label — a 20" kinky curly bundle typically wears like 12–14".

Rule of thumb: for curly or deeply wavy textures, order about a third longer than the finished length you want.

How Many Bundles You Need

Our wefts are sold as one bundle per unit. A full sew-in needs several. Longer lengths need more bundles, because every bundle weighs the same — stretched over 30 inches, 100 g simply looks thinner than it does over 12.

Straight and body wave

Two things worth knowing before you order:

• If you're between numbers, buy the higher one. Running short mid-install is the most common problem people run into, and the hardest to fix.
• Order everything for one install together. Color lots vary slightly between production runs, so bundles bought weeks apart may not match perfectly.

Ponytails and Clip-In Pieces

Clip-in and claw-clip pieces are one size — there is no measuring involved. Two things do affect how they look on you:

Length	Measured straightened, from the clip down. Wavy pieces will sit shorter than the stated length once the wave settles.
Weight	Heavier pieces give more body but need a firmly tied base underneath. If your own hair is fine, backcomb the base before clipping in.

Understanding Shade Codes

Hair colors use an industry numbering system rather than names. Once you know how it works, any shade code tells you what you're getting.

1B	Natural off-black — softer than jet, blends best with real hair
2	Darkest brown
4	Medium brown
8	Ash / light brown
12	Light golden brown
27	Honey blonde
30	Auburn
33	Deep auburn
613	Bleach blonde — the lightest shade
99J	Wine red / burgundy

Letters between numbers describe how two shades are combined:

T — as in T1B/27	Ombré. Dark at the root, fading to the lighter shade at the ends.
H — as in 12H613	Highlighted. The second shade is woven through the first as fine streaks.
M — as in M2/30	Mixed. The two shades are blended evenly throughout.

Matching your own hair? Compare in daylight, never under indoor bulbs — warm lighting makes almost every shade look redder than it is. If you're between two shades, choose the slightly darker one; it blends more forgivingly at the root.
